Ende Gelande & more
As some of you may know, I'm very much concerned with the well-being of our planet. Since the industrial revolution we've made a tremendous technologoical development, but it comes at a cost that weighs heavy on our environment. To tackle the growing threat of climate change it is necessary to bring the CO2 emissions of our industries worldwide down to preferable zero. And even then the process of global warming won't be stopped, but the effects will be less destructive if we stay beneath 1.5 or maximum 2.0 degrees temperature rise. I'm doing everything within my power to not contribute to this growing issue and if I can help to stop the CO2 emissions. I change my lifestyle and become involved in all kinds of climate related actions and initiatives. I perform with the Green Machine that allows my audience to produce the power I need on stage, I've started to eat only plantbased food and I'm participating in ceveral direct actions. Last weekend I joined Ende Gelände which is a climate action and camp in the Rheinlands where the second biggest coalmine of Europe is located. Together with a couple of thousands other peaceful protestors we managed to blockade the coalmining infrastructure for a couple of days. This was a very educational and meaningful experience. After having done the same in Amsterdam in June at Code Rood the Germany version of this type of civil disobedience brought me an even bigger insight in the size of the industry and the growing movement trying to stop it. I can totally recommend everyone who's looking for a practical way to fight climate change to join such an action or at least come to one of the action conferences where these actions are prepared.
